The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

We are looking for a Platform Industrial Engineer to join our Global Products Organization in Mexico.

In this role you will take part in defining an industrial plan that delivers a solution that meets business and stakeholder needs, balanced between product architecture capability, product architecture complexity, manufacturing capability and manufacturing complexity.

This position works in the System architecture team that is involved through the entire lifecycle of the project, especially linking the design capability requirements with the process capability requirements. This position also manages part proliferation and complexity at the plant that balances brand differentiation/performance and manufacturing complexity.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and maintain the Part Commonization Matrix

  • Develop and maintain the Manufacturing Sequence Chart in cooperation with Manufacturing Industrial Engineers

  • Act as interface between platform architecture team and Manufacturing System Design Team

  • Cooperate with different partners within the Product Development organization and Manufacturing, to optimize architecture design that balances product differentiation and manufacturing complexity

  • Work with System Architect to balance complexity and function trade-offs

  • Manage the system requirements related to manufacturing and internal logistics

  • Contribute to the System Conceptual Model using the SysML language to describe the system and its variability from a manufacturing perspective.

  • Consistent strategy; Regional vs. Global - Roadmap in alignment to Foot Print

  • Scoping - Capex estimate (Line capability, Interfaces and module selection, automation)

  • Complexity reduction - Clean up (delete no-active parts),Low runner assessment: which are and which are the benefits (increase productivity),Modules re-use across SKUs and reduction of active parts

Minimum requirements

  • BS in Engineering any discipline, preferably Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

  • Fluent in English

  • 3+ years Manufacturing Engineering and/or Product/Process Design experience

  • Must submit resume in English

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Systems Engineering basics

  • Manufacturing layout experience

  • Project management

  • Technical coaching abilities

  • Product System Design(commonization matrix, manufacturing sequence chart) experience
