The team you will be a part of

The Information Systems team is responsible for implementation of the enterprise architecture and the development and maintenance of the organization's computing/IT environment. Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is looking to fill the Sr. Data Engineer position in our global Business Intelligence Team.

This position has global coverage but its primary focus will be Small Domestic Appliances for our EMEA region in

which Whirlpool operates.

The Business Intelligence Data Engineer is a role in our Global IT department that reports to our Manager of Data

and Analytics. The BI Data Engineer leverages technology, data and analytical skills to provide valuable insights and

drive strategic decision-making within an organization. It plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting

data from various sources to generate actionable intelligence that supports business objectives.

The GIT Data Engineer will work to provide process and technical solutions focused on data Integration services to

prepare dataset for modeling and analytics by data profiling, cleansing, transforming and linking methodologies.

The Data Engineer is responsible for understanding how data is created, stored and managed. They are responsible

for developing data products that enable actionable insights, scalability, and reliability, and fostering collaboration

across regions, markets, and functions. Candidates need to be motivated, self-driven, curious and creative. They

will directly work with the Business Engagement and Advanced Analytics organizations all part of Whirlpool Analytics

Organization

Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core days in office and two days remote. This enables

employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely.

Your responsibilities will include

Collaborate with stakeholders to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products and

solutions in alignment with business objectives.

● Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of features and

enhancements.

● Translate business requirements into technical specifications, and ensure alignment between

business goals and BI deliverables.

● Responsible for technical development, testing, implementation and support.

● Ensuring data security and performance

● Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across reporting and analysis.

● Implement and maintain data governance practices, data quality controls, and data validation

processes.

● Communicate technical solutions and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Minimum requirements

● 6+ years of IT experience in Data Warehousing (SAP preferred)

● 4+ years in ABAP BW/HANA

● Advanced SQL coding experience

● 2+ years in Cloud environment development & operations experience (AWS or GCP)

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

● Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.

● Strong ELT/ETL designer/developer experience

● Structured & unstructured data expertise

● Data Modeling

● Experience working with data visualization tools such as Bex, Tableau and Google Looker Studio.

● Solid understanding of business intelligence concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

● Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data findings to

diverse audiences.

● Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable analytics

solutions.

Preferred skills and experiences

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related

discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.

● Cloud Data Engineer certification

● Experience with data governance, data quality, and data privacy practices.

● Proven track record of delivering high-quality analytics solutions and meeting deadlines.

● Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

● Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, working with data-driven products and solutions.

● Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment

● Enthusiasm for learning new tools & technologies

● Strong business acumen and ability to understand and translate business requirements.

● Effective stakeholder management and ability to communicate with business
