The team you will be a part of

The Procurement team identifies researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate as a KitchenAid Small Appliance Senior Analyst of Procurement. The role will be located onsite at our Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI.

Today, you might be working on negotiating pricing and a supply agreement with a supplier. Tomorrow, you'll be creating a commodity strategy, aligning with counterparts in other regions and other functions. You will also be communicating strategies and meeting with senior leaders in sourcing council on strategy, sourcing awards, and/or supplier exit strategies. Your job will include supplier scouting, supplier selection, business awarding and supplier management. You will be responsible for the financial, delivery, quality performance of the selected supplier and you will act as an escalation point to resolve issues with your supply base.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Develop and manage the business relationship between Whirlpool and its Suppliers of assigned categories commodities for KitchenAid Small Appliances, within our Global Strategic Sourcing organization (contract negotiations, supplier issue resolution, supplier cost reductions, purchase order creation and project management).

  • Develop the Global purchasing strategy for the following assigned product categories: food preparation and cooking (sourcing execution and supplier selection).

  • Constant research and exploration of new potential suppliers to support nearshoring efforts and foot print diversification.

  • Evaluate current and potential suppliers on cost, quality, delivery, and other information to determine viability of suppliers.

  • Monitor and analyze the financial health of the suppliers to take preventive measures to ensure supply continuity.

  • To support “make versus buy analysis” for new or current products to ensure our products competitiveness.

  • To work on cost driver analysis to determine opportunities or risks in terms of price fluctuations for our products.

  • Constant interaction and partnership with cross functional areas such as engineering and marketing to learn about new technologies and innovations to ensure our supply base is ready and capable to support new projects / products with innovative elements / features.

  • Forecast financials on a monthly basis and identify, develop and execute projects for your assigned commodities.

  • Lead / support various process partner needs (like Engineering & Technology, Product Development, Marketing, etc.) needs within assigned categories commodity(is).

  • Participate and contribute to project core team meetings to support new product launches.

  • Drive extraordinary results in meeting critical revenue, cost, quality, delivery, and service objectives.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are accomplished in all work streams.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree

  • 3+ Years of experience in procurement, supply chain, marketing, engineering or project management

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance.

  • Demonstrated practical use of supplier management and sourcing principles

  • Negotiation, conflict resolution and management skills

  • Build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and Suppliers

  • Analytical and computer related skills

  • Manage and prioritize multiple key activities

  • Potential and work ethic for future growth
