The Maintenance and Facilities Leader will be responsible for managing the activities of maintenance area group leaders, planners, and respective skilled trade employees for all equipment, building facilities and tooling functions. The selected candidate will lead the Maintenance and Facilities function to support all aspects of production processes including safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale. She/he will also be a key leader in driving the successful implementation of the Whirlpool Production System (WPS) processes and standards and be the leader or specialist of the Professional Maintenance Pillar (PM).
Responsible for the day-to-day plant operations of the building and equipment including interactions and accountability for safety with outside contractors.
Drive safety, quality, and productivity of the department and factory through effective leadership
Develop and execute requirements of the PM Pillar (Professional Maintenance) including Predictive Maintenance and Reliability.
Provide leadership to develop departmental strategy to prepare Maintenance and Facilities organizations for the future to support all WPS pillars and drive the PM Pillar.
Responsible for development and forecast of Departmental Budgets.
Develop training plans to ensure that team is up to date and current with technological advances and equipment.
Support the factory analysis for capacity, footprint, material flow, PFEP (plan for every part), labor cost/roll up, model line-up feasibility, make vs. buy studies and equipment/tooling scheduling and CAPEX approval.
Responsible for Department key performance indicators.
Manage apprenticeship and safety programs
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5+years of manufacturing experience
- HS Diploma/GED and 10+ years of manufacturing experience
Proven success in leading projects from inception through completion with direct responsibility for execution.
Strong people leadership and management skills
Ability to Drive and Lead Change within an organization
Proficiency in lean manufacturing leadership and tools
Solid facilitation and interpersonal skills
Ability to coach and develop others Strong people leadership and management skills
