This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Continuous Improvement Lead (Hourly) opening to join our Commercial Laundry organization. This is onsite role at our location in Fall River, MA.

As Continuous Improvement Lead (Hourly) you will serve as a technical resource and project leader in the development and application of production systems across a variety of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the cost, quality, and safety improvements while maintaining daily operations to achieve division goals.

Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Hourly Pay Rate: $29.75

Your responsibilities will include

  • Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment related problems using Word Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology

  • Initiate safety, cost, quality, and productivity improvements in the manufacturing operations

  • Support, develop, and improve sheet metal forming and joining processes and related equipment in a high speed manufacturing environment

  • Responsible for design, development, testing, and control of day to day, minor, and major projects involving tools, equipment, plant and manufacturing processes

  • Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as a technical resource for the department

  • Provide technical support as required for product design, supplier quality and advanced product quality planning.

  • Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma

  • Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as SOPs, Control Plans, and FMEAs

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field

  • 1+ year of manufacturing work experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, world-class manufacturing, and OPEX ( 6 sigma ) tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish manufacturing processes

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization

  • Strong mechanical knowledge

  • Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills

  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Solid decision-making and judgment skills

  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks

  • Problem-solving skills
