The team you will be a part of
The Quality Assurance team analyzes and implements quality standards for components, materials or services. Applies measures, sampling methods, testing methodology and other procedures to ensure that quality standards are met. Prepares reports and recommends improvements. Collaborates with suppliers and ensures effective corrective actions are implemented when needed and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs
This role in summary
Manages the laboratory infrastructure and ensure timely testing. Ensures testing is done correctly to
achieve accurate results. Ensures calibration activities for the plant Instruments and Gauges. Ensures
PPAP activity – inspection of parts, documentation and records for both inhouse and buy parts.
Your responsibilities will include
Ensure the testing as per Quality assurance plan / BIS / BEE requirement
● Maintains lab equipments in good working condition.
● Ensures lab availability for testing and provides necessary technical support and expertise.
● Conducts testing is done as per standard procedures, without wastages and within the stipulated
time to achieve accurate results.
● Documents and interprets test results for necessary action and record keeping.
● QMS incharge for the site - ISO audit and preparation & act as WCM co-pillar leader
● Signs-off on test results conducted in the lab.
● Provides support for external testing and recommends appropriate external testing agency.
● Trains blue-collar employees on correct testing procedures.
● Ensures availability of consumables for testing with approvals from Head Quality.
● Ensures safely and housekeeping standards are adhered to in the laboratory.
● Interacts with the Production, Expediting Procurement and Regional Procurement to provide
testing facilities and communicate the test results.
● Interacts with Manufacturing Engineering and Expediting Procurement for purchase of equipment
and consumables respectively.
● Interacts with Stores for procurement of consumables.
● Liaises with external lab to arrange for testing.
● Interacts with laboratory machine manufacturers for repairs and preventive maintenance.
● Interacts with PDC and other internal and external agencies, both locally and globally, to keep
abreast of new developments in testing technology and methods.
● Interacts with production/procurement and various agencies for timely calibration of
equipments/gauges/instruments as per Quality standards.
● Ensures PPAP activity – inspection of parts, documentation and records for both inhouse and buy
parts
Minimum requirements
Job Title : Quality Lab Incharge [Environmental Chamber / CFC / Metrology]
Qualification : B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Work Experience : 6 to 8 years
Reporting to : In charge Incoming Quality
Preferred skills and experiences
Proficient in Metrology (selection of test equipment, maintenance & calibration)
Computer Literacy- good knowledge of Excel
Proficient in SAP knowledge- GRN clearance
Proficient in Drawing reading & measurement

Technical
Problem solving-Basic knowledge of 8D Methodology & OPEX
Basic understanding & application of containment, RCA, and PCA
Hands on experience on the measuring equipment as vernier caliper / height gauge e.t.c
Proficient in Supplier PPAP
Quality Functional Deployment (QFD)/Critical Parameter management
Basic knowledge of SPC
Basic knowledge of PFMEA
Proficient in PPAP
General
Proficient in Metrology (selection of test equipment, maintenance & calibration)
Computer Literacy- good knowledge of Excel
Proficient in SAP knowledge- GRN clearance
Proficient in Drawing reading & measurement
