The team you will be a part of
The Material Management team is responsible for inventory audits and maintaining inventory at optimum levels. Develops procedures to enhance the effectiveness of inventory control programs. Coordinates with relevant departments to schedule, audit, and reconcile periodic physical inventories. Oversees incoming shipments of merchandise to ensure that inventory is accurate, updated and provided according to schedules.
This role in summary
Manages the materials in stores to ensure correct receipt , storage and issue of materials; Ensures maintenance of stores data for tracking material receipts , issues and reconciliation through SAP; Implements and ensures adherence to best Practices in stores management.
Your responsibilities will include
Ensures tracking and timely capture of stores related information.
Implements best practices in store management and trains subordinate on the same.
Ensures accurate stores MIS generation and communicates to other functions as needed.
Ensures perpetual inventory as per defined frequency.
Ensures dispatch of service spares as required.
Ensures dispatch of material required for job work and other locations and other plants.
Ensures the creation of shortage lists.
Ensure no GRN pending against material receipt.
Maintain FIFO for all components.
Design Streamline material flow to reduce non value added activities
Implement Lean supply chain tools in stores
Ensures adherence to safety & housekeeping standards.
Conduct safety Gemba in stores with CFT and close actions.
Interacts with production Planning & Control to provide stores related information and understand the production plan.
Interacts with production for understanding production schedules and providing efficient support.
Interacts with expediting procurement for supply schedules and receipt of materials.
Interacts with Maintenance for data on availability of spares.
Interacts with contract employees entering Stores data in SAP to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
Interacts with Finance to provide material reconciliation data.
Manages the performance of subordinates and identifies their training and development needs.
Develops and mentors staff to move to the next higher level of job.
Minimum requirements
Job Title : In charge Stores
Qualification : Graduate/ Btech with diploma in material management
Work Experience : 6 to 8 years.
Reporting to : Head Planning & Supply Chain
