The team you will be a part of

This role in summary

The position is responsible for the CAD leadership role for design-related aspects of projects. Responsible for developing/ reviewing complex CAD models. Establishes design approaches for self and others. Plan assigned tasks within scheduled time constraints for self and others. Assists in coordination of project activities to ensure project objectives are met. Applies robust CAD design principles and tools in completing tasks. Acts as a consultant in an area of expertise. Recommends & delivers creative and innovative design ideas. Establishes component tolerances in accordance with manufacturing capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Architecture Skeleton Creation: Main Architecture SS/Modules boundaries, normative interfaces, Origin Coordinate System Position/Orientation for SS/Modules;

  • Create and hand off Module Variants Assemblies in CAD to Subsystems;

  • Create and maintain Configurable CAD Assemblies;

  • Lead creation and governance of eBOMs according to the defined architecture maintaining Level 2 eBOMs and Master Assemblies;

  • Support efforts to make CPM evaluations in regards to tolerance stacks;

  • Support design reviews and virtual buildings;

  • Plan DCN & Product release, review & weekly update to projects team;

Minimum requirements

Creo exp of 6 to 9 yrs

Preferred skills and experiences

Technical Mentoring and Coaching : Focus on Learn, Execute & teach

- Mentor others on CAD modeling and best practices;

- Mentor others on Whirlpool design and drafting standards;

Patents/ Research / External presentations:

- Offers innovative and creative design ideas and/or solutions;

- Ideation contribution towards IP;

Knowledge Management:

- Document Knowledge in CAD Guidelines as applicable

- Aware and contribute Knowledge in A3 as applicable

- Develop CAD standards / input to revise

- CAD process / Best practices SOP

Additional information

Master in PSM to manage CAD data & design change process (CN / CR)

- Master in engineering standards (ASME Y14.5-2009 / ISO 1101)

- Master in GD&T

- Master in Variation analysis & Tolerance stackup (Using CAD)

- Proficient in manufacturing and assembly processes that influence (Plastic/ Sheet metal/ Die Cast) component/assembly design decisions. (Demonstrated DFM/A in major projects)

- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to drive design decisions

- Proficient in Product development process

- Proficient in Engineering Fundamentals and Engineering concepts

- Opex BB trained (Awareness/hands on experience on Six sigma/OPEX/ Lean tools and practices)
