Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for an Analyst, Engineering role to work within the dishwashing platform team. This role works closely with platform teams, electronics, manufacturing, service, procurement and other roles within the Dishwashing Group while achieving the highest level of quality while driving optimized cost, design and process robustness, waste elimination through the use of Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) tools and methodologies
Develop and implement software configuration changes to meet Dishwasher project requirements
Develop and execute software validation test plans for setting files and complete product approval process for each setting file before release
Scope work required to deliver setting files for new models or model updates
Work closely with electrical system integrator, cycles engineers, algorithm engineers, and software team to ensure all features and functions are implemented, tested, defects logged and root cause identified
Work closely with system integrator, electrical system integrator, cycles engineer and the entire technical team on delivering product requirements on time
Accountable for the final release of software configuration documentation and prints, including SAP Bill of Material
Develop new and improve existing test methods and test plans for software validation
Utilize Six Sigma tools to develop and apply software algorithms globally for dishwashers
Responsible for continuous improvement of the full software development process including:
Software validation test methods and test plans reducing test cycle time and improving the ability to detect quality issues earlier in development.
Product specification and target setting
Software configuration documentation creation and release
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
2+ years’ experience in product development
MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Experience with industry standard software languages, embedded software development, and tools
Experience with troubleshooting within an embedded system
Knowledge of Six Sigma tools is a plus
Project assessment and risk management skills
Experience managing projects in stage-gate process
Ability to work cross-functionally and globally
Effective communication and negotiating skills with the specific ability to interact with global team members
