This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Senior Analyst, Electrical Engineering. The role will be located at our Research location in Edgewater, (Michigan) USA. In this role you will be involved in the seamless integration of electrical and electronic control systems in final manufactured products, from Concept through Production Validation delivering product leadership through balanced product solutions that delight consumers and satisfy the needs of the business and stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include
Manage system integration of projects in Advanced Development Projects (ADP) and Production Development Projects (PDP)
Generate, review and align with stakeholders system level requirements for Electrical and Electronics System
Lead project scoping work, align right cost, quality target and schedule with stakeholders.
Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and project execution
Identify and propose system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decisions. Lead decision making process within the electrical domain for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails.
Lead technical design reviews for project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails by working with key development team members (e.g. Subsystem teams, Verification & Validation Strategist, Project Leader) and by consulting with key architecture development team members when necessary (e.g. System Architect, Subsystem SMEs, Verification & Validation Strategist)
Drive full system validation through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages
Drive Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process
Document total expected variation to +/- 3 sigma distribution for each attribute
Manage/Release of Electronics Bill of Materials (EBOMs) based on project charter and architecture definition
Build of physical prototypes per V&V (Verification & Validation) Plan
Document the revision of parts used in builds
Contribute on the development of design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (dFMEA)) action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of design experience in Hardware, Software and/or electrical systems
3+ years of development and execution experience
3+ years of Project Management experience
3+ years of experience with System design & System integration
Preferred skills and experiences
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
Problem solving approach with 6 Sigma certification
Knowledge in the product (how it works, components, algorithms)
Product Safety & Codes
Exceptional problem solving approach
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others
Technical review abilities
Leadership skills, ability to influence others
Manufacturing environment experience
Ability to work in cross-functional teams
Appliances knowledge desired
Fluent EnglishRSRWH
